Cutting Edge Tech Report

Cutting Edge Tech is technology that is the latest and most advanced. At one point in time the wheel was cutting edge technology. Today we have the Google Phone, though that isn’t exactly cutting edge anymore. Your assignment is to find an example of cutting edge technology, be it a game engine (not a game but the program used to create the graphics or playability), a piece of equipment like the latest phone, laptop, Alienware, hybrid car, energy efficient building, or any other product created by using only the most advanced technology available. You need to create a report on this piece of technology that answers the following questions:

What is it? – Explain what the technology is, how it is used, and how it has been developed as well as by whom. Example: The Google Phone or G1 is a touch screen phone that can do many things. It is used as a phone and has many applications likes a GPS or a Web browser. It was developed from the original cell phone by a company called Android.

Where can you find it? Explain where the technology is used everyday, where information on it can be found (provide at least one Web site) and where it can be purchased. Example: People all over the world have G1s and newer phones are coming out soon. You can find out more at the T-Mobile site http://www.t-mobileg1.com/ or go to the T-Mobile store to buy one.

Why are you writing about it? What is it about this piece of technology that you find interesting? Would you want to use this technology? Example: I think the G1 is an amazing phone but I’m not sure I’m going to purchase the phone just yet as I think the next version is going to be even better and I’m waiting for a phone that will have all the functionality of a computer.
